So here we are, back after our exclusive three-year tour of Europe, Scandinavia and the subcontinent, with the 2021 WRUW Telethon on Solitude and Born To Lose.
“But wait!” you say to yourself. “You’re not Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues, leaders of the best show band in the land.” Right you are, friend. And we’re also not on a mission from God. But we are on a mission to bring some of the best rock ‘n’ roll music to our listeners every Thursday night at 11 PM. From the hard-and-heavyweights to high-energy rippers, whether it’s drenched in the blues or young, loud, and snotty, if it rocks, we play it for you. And April 5th through the 11th, 2021 is the one week this year that we ask you to show your support for the music featured on our shows by making a donation to the WRUW Telethon.
“But wait!” you say to yourself again. “The WRUW Telethon hasn’t been gone for three years.” Correct again, friend. It’s only been one year since the pandemic forced WRUW to begin operating remotely and cancelled the 2020 Telethon, but it’s felt like three years. However, since we missed the chance last year, it’s now more important than ever to make a donation so that we can continue to bring you the quality, non-commercial rock ‘n’ roll programming you’ve been able to hear every Thursday night at 11 PM, even during the pandemic.
We’ll be live and live-via-phone in the studios of WRUW 91.1 FM in Cleveland on Thursday night, April 8th, 2021, with another Telethon edition of Solitude and Born To Lose. We won’t have phone operators standing by to take your calls this year, but you can make your donation online right here any time, even during our show. But why wait, you’re here already, so donate your rock ‘n’ roll dollars now to show your support for the music you love. There are lots of great items available as thank-you gifts for your donation, too, including a new hoodie, three new T-shirts, and socks! Plus some old favorites return, like the pint glass, the coffee mug, and the tiki glass.
Like Lemmy said, “Don’t you listen to a single word against rock and roll!” Donate to Solitude and Born To Lose during the 2021 WRUW Telethon instead!
