Fat Monday is dedicated to presenting the music of New Orleans and Louisiana – Music from the people born, living, and/or recording there. With a mixture of many cultures, these people from Louisiana have made outstanding contributions to the music of our world. So, on Fat Monday we try to explore as much music of all types from this joyous region as we can, both current and historic.
WRUW has had a long history of presenting Louisiana music on shows hosted by Cuzin’ Dave, Allison Minor Kaslow (one of the prime movers behind the creation of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and one time agent for Professor Longhair), Walking Dr. Bill and Ron Cass.
If you enjoy this music (which is not found many places on the radio dial) you can bring more of it to more people with your donation of support to the 2022 WRUW Telethon. Your contributions are important for maintaining and improving our equipment as well as presenting shows both on the air and through the internet. (Things ware out and break down!) Your donations will also enable us to find _more_ music from NOLA, both new and old, to add to our library and introduce to your ears!
THANKS for your listenership and any help you can give us during the 2023 WRUW Telethon!
